This page explains, plainly, what this website (tapendu.is-a.dev) does with any information that passes through it when you visit or use the chat assistant. There is no legalese here — just facts.

Chat assistant (AI replies)

When you type a message into the chat widget and send it, your message is sent to a backend API I run at api.tapendu.is-a.dev. That backend forwards it to Groq, an AI inference service, which generates the reply. Groq's own privacy policy applies to any data processed by their service.

I do not permanently store your chat messages server-side. The conversation is only held in memory for the duration of the request and then discarded.

Chat history in your browser

For your convenience, the chat widget stores your conversation history in your own browser's localStorage. This data:

• Never leaves your device automatically — it is not sent to any server.
• Expires automatically after 48 hours.
• Can be deleted at any time by clicking "Start Fresh" inside the chat panel, or by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.

"Notify Tapendu" — contact form

If you choose to use the "Notify Tapendu" flow inside the chat widget, you are asked for your name, a contact detail (email, phone, or LinkedIn), and a short message. When you submit:

• Those details are sent via Web3Forms, a third-party form service, to my email inbox so I can reply to you personally.
• Your information is used only to respond to your enquiry. It is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any other purpose.
• Web3Forms' own privacy policy governs their handling of submissions.

Analytics and advertising trackers

This site does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising tracker. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded on this page beyond the Google Fonts stylesheet (used for typography) and the services described above.

Google Fonts: loading fonts from Google's CDN causes your browser to make a request to Google's servers. If you prefer, you can block this in your browser settings.

Cookies

This site does not set any cookies. The chat history is stored in localStorage, not in cookies.

How to request deletion

If you submitted a "Notify Tapendu" message and would like me to delete it from my inbox, please email me using the address shown in the Contact section of the portfolio and I will do so promptly.

To delete your local chat history, click "Start Fresh" in the chat widget, or clear site data for tapendu.is-a.dev in your browser settings.
